    Steeles Island double booked us. We paid a 50% deposit in May. Visited, paid in full, and met with the owner on 10 September, confirming all was okay for our 29 September booking. We were emailed 21 September to say, whoops - double booked, go elsewhere. Owner was rude and unsympathetic, refunding our payments but offering no compensation whatsoever. Refused to say why our group was less important than the other. Owner also said it should be easy to find another venue for 17 guests with just eight days notice at the start of the school holidays. It wasn’t. No acknowledgment whatsoever their mistake caused extreme upset and undue stress. We would definitely never go back. Tlhe owners are highly unprofessional and uncaring.
